The strapping solution has become an indispensable consumable for the completion of the packaging process at the end of the line. It is a high tensile strength laminated material used in many packaging applications, including carton box closure, product packaging, securing plastic containers and palletized materials for transport.
Plastic straps are economical, offer an excellent combination of high strength and elasticity, and are material efficient.
They have the advantage that the raw material for these straps can be recycled material, either post-production scrap or post-consumer collected material, once it has gone through the stages of selection, washing and crushing or pelletizing. Strapping can be made from 100% recycled plastic, recycled material mixed with virgin resin (or virgin resin in its entirety) and the resulting straps are fully recyclable.
Within the industry, the plastic materials used are PP (polypropylene) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate). PP is more flexible than PET, making it an excellent choice for securing boxes and unwieldy loads. However, PP is not strong enough for heavy loads, an application for which PET would be better suited.
At PPN (PET Packaging Network) we are committed to the environment, always looking for technology and applications that through the use of recycled material, contribute to a better use of resources.
Thus, we are at our customers' disposal for the supply of machinery for the manufacture of all types of plastic strapping.
